How to “Nab” a Bargain at Auctions

by Neil Jenman
READING TIME: 2.5 minutes
An offer from Neil Jenman to a few auction buyers.
Are you looking to buy a home at auction? Maybe I can help you – personally.
I can view the home you want, discuss your circumstances with you and, best of all, come to the auction with you. And, most likely help you nab a bargain.
Contrary to mythology, auctions are never the best way for homeowners to sell. But they are often the best way for homebuyers to, well, I’ll say it again, “nab a bargain”.
Oh sure, I will admit that auctions sometimes – especially in a boom – get higher prices than owners expected. The aim of all sellers, however, should not be just a higher price. There is a much better price, it’s the HIGHEST price.
With auction it’s almost impossible to get the highest price. If you are a seller and you auction your home, you are almost certain to lose.
So, given that most people who buy at auction also had to sell a home beforehand, it follows that the people who know how to work the auction system have some real estate experience.
But few people have as much experience as me, Neil Jenman. I have been in the real estate industry for decades. For 20 years I have been protecting consumers in my role as a consumer advocate. Or trying to protect them. Sometimes I feel like a failure when I see how many people are still getting ripped-off, especially homesellers at auctions.
Now, let me be clear. Buyers are not ripping-off sellers at auctions. The buyers who nab a bargain merely know the system. The system is at fault. So too are those agents who push this faulty system on to home-sellers. Astoundingly, as anyone who’s studied negotiation knows, the auction system prevents (yes, STOPS!) buyers from paying their highest price.
So, if you are looking to buy a home at auction, I will personally show you how hundreds of buyers “nab a bargain” every weekend. I’ll “hold your hand” all the way.
Oh – and please, in case you think I am ‘turning’ on sellers, not at all. I am more than happy to help sellers avoid auctions. But to those who won’t do their research, how can I persuade you that an auction does not get you the highest price and is therefore not in your best interests?
Perhaps when more homesellers grasp the reality of what’s happening in the front line of real estate, they might do what I wish they would all do. Contact me before they contact an agent.
Whether you are selling and want the highest price or you are buying and want to “nab a bargain”, if you contact me (or any of my colleagues) on 1800 1800 18, we will give you support you can trust.
Unlike most agents, we always place the needs of real estate consumers first. That’s why most of what we do is completely FREE.
So, if you are selling and you want the highest price, call us.
And, if you are buying and you want to “nab a bargain”, call us. But please be quick as this is really a limited offer because I can’t attend every auction. But I will attend some.
If you want me, call me as soon as possible – 1800 1800 18.
Thank you for all your support.

FOOTNOTE: Neil’s offer to accompany buyers to an auction and show them how the system works, even to bid, must be limited to FIVE people. After all, there is only one Neil.
ALSO, PLEASE NOTE: Our focus is helping consumers. Abuse from agents on our web site or Facebook page will be deleted or ignored or well publicised – it depends on our mood.
But one thing will never vary: No matter how much we are abused or threatened we will never stop doing what we love most – helping honest consumers to get the best deal possible in real estate. And, of course, if any agents are serious about taking care of consumers, we’d love to help you too. But, remember, the consumers come first. Thank you.
